January 2021 REALLY CARE about THE elderly residents

The Richmond Kiwanis Club in collaboration with the Richmond Kiwanis Senior Citizens Housing Society purchased and distributed 7500 masks to all the residents living at Kiwanis Towers

December 2020 We have donated $1000 to support the Richmond Food Bank Society.

The Kiwanis Club of Richmond generously donated $1000 and continues the ongoing support for the Richmond Food Bank Society.  The Richmond Food Bank gives healthy and nutritional balanced food to more than 2200 people that are in need for food in a typical week.

December 2020 The Richmond Kiwanis club donated $1000 to support the Salvation Army

The Kiwanis Club of Richmond continues to support the Salvation Army with a cheque for $1000.  The Salvation Army gives hope and support to vulnerable people in 400 communities across Canada.

Kiwanis Towers Board of Directors in collaboration with Richmond North's MLA, Teresa Wat distributed masks to 300 residents.  Keeping our seniors safe throughout the pandemic.

June 2020 Mask Donation from Quanzhou Friendship Society of Canada

Kiwanis received a donation of 2000 masks from Quanzhou Friendship Society of Canada coordinated through the local MLA’s Constituency Office, Teresa Wat.  Masks were distributed to 190 residents.

Kiwanis received a donation of rice packages that was distributed to over 400 residents.

Kiwanis representatives attended an invitation to meet with Federal Minister of Seniors, Honourable Deb Schulte to participate with roundtable discussions on the latest Canadian Senior Affairs.

Another successful pancake breakfast event hosted by the Richmond Kiwanis Board of Directors.  100 residents attended the pancake breakfast.

Kiwanis held their annual Christmas Party hosted by the Richmond Board of Directors, the resident’s social committee and management.  120 residents attended the event.

A tour of Kiwanis Towers was provided to staff from the City of Richmond’s Community Social Development Department.

Kiwanis held their annual anniversary BBQ with approximately 140 residents attending.

Kiwanis held a BBQ lunch for 150 residents.  Guest included local MLAs and the Leader of BC Liberal Party.

Kiwanis hosted a tour of the building to local MLAs and had productive roundtable discussions in regards to the need of more low-income housing for seniors.
